Last night I snagged a last minute ticket to WPGC 95.5’s Birthday Bash and it was a phenomenal time! Access to the show that “money can’t buy,” because one can only win them from the radio station, was just what I need to light a fire under me again for concert photography.

Performances by DC’s own Fat Trel, Chedda da Connect, TK-n-Cash, local artist Pinky Killacorn (who was selected to open for the show due to over 10,000 votes from fans,) the ‘Classic Man’ himself Jidenna, Hakeem (or Yazz) from FOX’s hit series Empire, and The Dream all killed their sets! This epic line up was surely one to remember.

Throughout the show, on-air personalities from the station like the beautiful Sunni in the City, Tony Redz, Joe Clair and his morning show crew Poet, Guy Lambert and Tati, and DJ’s DJ Chris Styles and DJ Reddz come out to keep the show flowing. The hometown love was felt heavy as the crowd went just as wild for the radio show hosts as they did for the performers.
