Houston fans got to enjoy a complimentary BBQ cooked by Celebrity Pit Master Joey Victorian featuring their very own BBQ Sauces and cooking seasonings from their AC Barbeque lifestyle brand.

With drinks, games, and sounds by DJ Aggravated, the event felt like a genuine family reunion right in the heart of the Almeda corridor of Third Ward. Houston legends, Scarface and Trae Da Truth made surprise appearances to show support to the co-owners, while local media captured photos and quotes about the new venture.

The Backstory

Friends for years, Cedric The Entertainer and Anthony Anderson bonded over their shared love of barbeque and the unique history that surrounds it. Hailing from St. Louis, MO, and Compton, CA, both Cedric and Anthony grew up with their variations on the craft. Partnering on AC Barbeque, the friends combine their individual experiences, knowledge from experts in the field, and enthusiasm for the art form to create a brand that has everything the home cook needs for a barbeque feast anywhere.

Founded on the principles of Black excellence, family tradition, and bringing people together, AC Barbeque aims to provide the tools, flavor, and community that’ll take grilling to the next level.

With a vision to elevate the BBQ experience, AC Barbeque will introduce a new line of tools and accessories this summer:

The BBQ Caddy (aka “Not Your Daddy’s Caddy”) is available in Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores nationwide starting May 1 and their extended line of accessories launched exclusively at H-E-B Stores (TX) this June.

Meet the Flava

The two grilling enthusiasts crafted three specialty barbeque rubs and two sauces that honor and celebrate the rich flavors of various global culinary traditions and pay homage to the diverse world of barbequing.

THE MVP (referred to as the “Put Me On Everything”): Made for pork, chicken, beef, fish, and whatever else you got going on. Bright and tangy flavor profile that’s a bit smoky, a bit fruity, and a whole lot of hot damn.

LEMON STEPPER: A lemon pepper rub that’s here to turn up and its brought the whole crew – lemon, garlic, coriander and thyme. When your cookout needs a little extra kick, this rub doesn’t mess around. Made for fowl, fish, or fixings – make those lighter meats and sides pop like nobody’s business.

MIDNIGHT SMOKE: Chicken and fish, we love you… but the party doesn’t really get started until the dark meats arrive. A salty and sweet flavor profile with a black pepper kick that doesn’t skimp on the smoke. Made for brisket, lamb, pork – perfect for your fav dark cuts.

For the Culture

AC Barbeque proudly launched their first campus restaurant at Jackson State University this spring and will be opening their flagship restaurant at Westfield Century City Mall this summer.

Will you try AC Barbeque the next time you grill?
