Monday’s DTLR Media Luncheon and Listening Session brought Watts, Ca. native Kevin McCall to the DMV. McCall is a multitalented producer (Chris Brown’s “Deuces,” “Strip,” and “No Bullshit,”) rapper, singer and songwriter who has released four self-produced mixtapes. You may have heard him lend vocals or flow to “Deuces” and “Strip,” which led to Chris Brown signing him to his CBE label. McCall strives to produce music that will appeal to all listeners and blends together world sounds to develop a more well-rounded product. Attendees really wanted to hear McCall sing live after listening to five of his latest singles– each of which made me hit a mean body roll and send out that, “What you doing tonight?” text. (just kidding) But we insisted and put him on the spot to do this acapella rendition of his release, “Compliments.”
