Clean Up Your Digital Brand with Clear App

You have your computer all cleaned up but what about your digital presence?

That Facebook post when you were angry, that twitter rant you went on at 3am following the bad date, or what about that infamous photo of your girls night out that made it to IG?  Most people say it’s just social media, but it is in some forms a representation of some part of you.  Honestly depending on the situation it’s some people’s first introduction to you.

What’s your twitter name?

It’s not the first question in an interview but social media is in some ways the new digital resume, you can get some type of idea about a person based off of what they post.  But let’s face it we are all human, so there are some things we just shouldn’t post but we do anyway.  Of course there is the delete button but what about that tweet from 7 months ago that you forgot about? Or when you first got online and didn’t have a mind to keyboard filter installed yet.  That’s where Clear comes in.

The creator of Clear, Ethan Czahor shared his story on why he created Clear and how a few misplaced thoughts cost him his dream job. He evolved from a fledgling comedian testing material on twitter to become the CTO of Jeb Bush’s political operations.  Unfortunately for Ethan, he evolved but the internet never forgets even when we do.

So what exactly does Clear do?

Clear helps you to get rid of your embarrassing posts, think of it as the “Olivia Pope” to your social media.  It allows you to connect your Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts to it.  It then analyzes the content you post through the use of algorithms and the IBM super computer Watson.  Watson is the computer that was on Jeopardy and won.  Then it flags those posts so you can see them and choose to delete them. It also uses the posts to calculate a score so kind of like FICO for your social media, if that makes sense, the negative posts are impacting your Clear score.  If you want to improve it delete it or it also gives you the option to clear it meaning this isn’t really negative so it was incorrectly marked.

Let’s be honest we all say things from time to time that aren’t exactly politically correct or necessarily nice and we also grow and change. Who is going to remember what they tweeted 5 years ago, or wants to sift through 30 thousand plus tweets?  Better yet who has that kind of time?  Take some guess work out it with Clear.  Clear is currently in beta but is available on iOS.
