Dej Loaf Gets Personal with Civil TV in Intimate Interview [VIDEO]
The voice of hit single “Try Me,” rapper Deja Trimble, best known as Dej Loaf takes Civil TV to her Detroit neighborhood for an intimate look at her humble beginnings.
In the almost 10 minute profile, we get to enjoy her soft-spoken narrative of her road to fame. The female MC chronicles her “zone-out” process of music making in her bedroom, special love of popular cognac Hennessy prompted by her mother and how she she’s a pro at gearing up her asthma nebulizer after many brush ins with death.
The endearing piece lets us see through the combative demeanor we came to learn in Try Me and lets us see a confident young woman who is now sure of herself and walks with the confidence to match. “I was always a shy kid, I wasn’t sure of myself. So now, I walk with confidence, I talk with confidence, I know who I am. It took me a while to get here so I embrace that when I say I know who I am,” Dej Loaf said.
Since bursting on the scene last Fall, Dej Loaf is now signed to Columbia Records and has released her first mixtape Sell Sole.
