BobbyPen’s Artist Spotlight: Drummer Eric “Rain Man” Gaston [VIDEO]
Greetings everyone! It’s a new year and it’s time to get back in the swing of things. Today I present esteemed drummer Eric Gaston, better known by his stage name “Rain Man.”
Gaston has a huge base of supporters and I am happy to be in such wonderful company. Let me tell you guys how I posted a photo of him on my Fan Page with singer Eric Roberson, (who he’s currently on tour with) it got over 60 likes in 2 minutes. I’m not lying! So, this introduction is certainly a treat for musicians looking to break into the industry.
Rain Man, has been drumming for as long as he can remember, beginning by banging on his mother’s pots and pans with wooden stirring spoons. Once his family got a load of him banging on the backs of pews at church with fan tips, his father brought him his first drum set when he was 12-years-old. Rain Man recalls it being a black Slingerland kit that he loved dearly because it was his first.
He credits the support of his parents, inspiration from his hometown Detroit and his educational and musical experience at Hampton University for propelling him to superstardom. To date, Rain Man has played for the likes of Fabolous, Dwele, Salt N’ Pepper, Alexander Zonjic, Vivian Green, Big Sean, SILK and Darnell Kendricks– just to name a few!
