The series premiere had audiences on the edge of their seats and black audience members talking to the movie screen – the ultimate form of flattery from the black community. Although the actors cannot hear them, it’s a great sign of the show’s future success.
On a more serious not, Shots Fired tackles the recent racial divide and social unrest that comes with volatile cases in local communities. It references the shooting of Trayvon Martin, racial equality and police brutality. For some viewers it’s a touchy subject while for others the show hits close to home.
Sanaa Lathan’s quick-witted humor and tough cop attitude as Ashe kept viewers engaged but mostly drooling during her more intimate scenes on the show.
There is so much left to be discovered about Stephan James’s character Preston. He’s the perfect guy in a tailored suit with a gorgeous smile but he’s not as perfect as he seems.
The music on the show is AMAZING! The R&B duo Ruff Endz back and they’re heating up the small screen this season. Check out the soundtrack ASAP!
The jaw dropping finish to episode one will leave you gasping. FOX will need ten additional episodes on standby when social media blows up saying “WE WANT MORE.”
The seriespremieres March 22 at 8/7c on FOX, prior to the spring return of “Empire” at 9/8c. Don’t blink or you’ll miss some key elements to the story as it unfolds!
