Heineken Green Room DC Launch feat. Black Thought x Talib Kweli x DJ J Rocc [VIDEOS]
Philly’s Two.One.Five Magazine launches Heineken Green Room in DC
Philadelphia-based magazine, Two.One.Five brought Hip-Hop band The Roots lead Black Thought to Washington, D.C’s Liv Nightclub for it’s Heineken Green Room DC Launch.
Sponsored by the 149-year-old lager, the exclusive member’s only event began at 9 pm and gave guests souvenir wristbands, which came with a pop-out for a complimentary brew, and logo earbuds.
The show began with Los Angeles’ DJ J Rocc scratching on turntables to get the crowd excited for Black Thought. J Rocc kept the old-school Hip-Hop and Soul hits flowing, most times blending or spinning a capella tracks.
Black Thought’s Arrival
There’s commotion behind me to the left of the stage. Black Thought is in the building, but he’s not alone. With him are rappers Talib Kweli and Big K.R.I.T. No one expected them to show, so they were the red star on the Green Room experience.
Brooklyn-based producer & DJ J.Period played Hip-Hop instrumentals like Common’s “They Say” and Q-Tip’s “Let’s Ride” for Black Thought and Talib Kweli (Instagram Clip) to freestyle over.
