How did you get started, and how did you get to where you are today?

I started in the Entertainment Industry in the Fall of 2015 as co-host for an NJ-based podcast. The content was majority related to hip hop, entertainment and reality television. Although the show was a success, the owner of the podcast decided that he no longer wanted to continue the show. I became devastated but knew it was my calling to speak life into people. From that day on, I took my reality into my hands. In Jan 2016 the Kira Deevah Show aired. The concept was of promoting the dreams that turned into reality. My platform serves as a safe space where creators can discuss their journey to success. I immediately realized the potential of the artist and offered services to my guests such as artist development, management and music distribution. By January 2017 The Kira Deevah Show became a success and I began to receive requests from artists for promotion. In honor of their request I started having monthly showcases to honor independent music artists. We allowed artists to perform in front of their peers as well as guest celebrity judges who provided constructive feedback. Some of the celebrity judges were Serious Jones, Jae Hood, Shotgun Suge, Jr writer, and E Ness. Thereafter, the Deevah Entertainment brand was created to be a full-service record label that provides all aspects of marketing and promotion.

Challenges and Obstacles

Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of your struggles along the way?

The major struggles I encountered on this journey were constantly trying to prove that I deserved the same respect as my male colleagues. I struggled to have my male colleagues take me seriously as a businesswoman in a male-dominated industry. Let’s be honest as a woman ( a very attractive one at that } you are only going to get as far as the respect you demand. I am not saying it was easy but I demanded my respect.

We encourage our clients to grow both personally and professionally as they build as many fruitful relationships in this industry as possible. We will develop you as an artist, manage your social media presence, provide your artwork design, record your music, distribute your music; and market you by putting you in the same room with the heavy hitters. Our main objective is to look at where you are now to provide the services you need so that you can take your brand to the next level, even if the results lead you to where you no longer need us.
