The concert, part of a special Valentine’s Day weekend lineup, drew a diverse crowd eager to experience a night of exceptional R&B and soul music.

Vivian Green

Kicking off the evening, Vivian Green delivered a captivating performance that set the tone for the night. Her setlist included fan favorites such as “Emotional Rollercoaster,” “Gotta Go Gotta Leave (Tired),” and “Get Right Back to My Baby.” Green’s dynamic stage presence and emotive vocals resonated with the audience, creating an intimate and engaging atmosphere.

Ledisi

Following Green, Ledisi took the stage with an electrifying energy. She expressed profound gratitude, praising the Lord for the opportunity to sing at the Super Bowl—a milestone achieved 30 years after being told she wasn’t “pretty enough” for the industry. Her setlist featured powerful renditions of “Pieces of Me,” “Alright,” and “High.” Throughout her performance, Ledisi encouraged the audience to “wait and hold on” during challenging times, sharing messages of resilience and faith. As she concluded her set, she proudly displayed the Delta sign, honoring her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta.

Kem

Headlining the concert, Kem transformed the venue into a “Ministry of Love.” Seamlessly blending his smooth ballads with upbeat tracks, he incorporated praise and worship intermissions, fostering a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. His setlist included beloved songs like “Love Calls,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” and “Find Your Way (Back in My Life).” Kem shared personal stories about his wife and their seven children, ranging in age from 30 years to 9 months. He invited men in the audience to sing “Find Your Way” to their partners, emphasizing, “We are made to be in relationship.” Highlighting the importance of showcasing Black men as fathers and husbands, Kem stated, “Every time you step out the house, you are a testimony.”

He expressed hope that his music evokes the essence of artists like Anita Baker, Teddy Pendergrass, Frankie Beverly, and Charlie Wilson. In heartfelt tributes, he performed renditions of Patti LaBelle’s “If Only You Knew” and Luther Vandross’s “Never Too Much,” honoring the legends who inspired him.

The concert was a masterful blend of soulful melodies, personal narratives, and inspirational messages, leaving attendees with a renewed sense of hope and love. The Smart Financial Centre proved to be the perfect venue for this memorable night, offering excellent acoustics and an intimate setting that enhanced the overall experience.
