New Music Tuesday : Wale, Ludacris, Jodeci & Janelle Monae Dropped Today [STREAM]
Urban Music gets a jolt this week with the release of new music from Wale, Ludacris, Jodeci and Janelle Monae.
Wale’s studio album, The Album About Nothing (#TAAN,) is a musical interpretation of the hit 90’s sitcom Seinfeld. Aside from the album art, snippets of iconic comedian Jerry Seinfield’s voice thread the 14-track album together. #TAAN features production by and appearances by Usher, Jeremih, J.Cole, and SZA.

Ludacris, who’s gearing up for the 7th installment of the Fast & The Furious franchise, releases his 8th studio album Ludaverse. He says this is his most honest album to-date, as he reached back to Word of Mouf Luda to give his fans what they want. Features include Miguel on the current single “Good Lovin'” Usher, John Legend and his cousin Monica.

90’s R&B group Jodeci released their first album in 20 years today. Featuring current acts like B.o.B. was a clear effort to bring the sound we’ve come to know and love to 2015. (Whoooo- yeah!) With production from Timbaland, The Past, The Present, The Future is a compilation of 12 brand-new tunes from the quartet.

Queen Janelle Monae releases a new single today entitled “Yoga.” The track, which is uptempo to the point of being trap music, is a much different sound from what we’re used to from her. With the instructions to “Do a handstand, bend it back, put your legs up” you won’t be able to do anything but surrender and twerk. The cool thing about Ms. Monae– who recently teamed up with Epic Records to create her own music imprint Wondaland Records, is showing us that she refuses to subscribe to any one label as an artist. I’m down for the ride.
