“Bounce Beat King” Reggie “Polo” Bruwell Dead at 42 [VIDEO]
For three years fans have been praying for the recovery of Go-Go pioneer Reggie “Polo” Burwell. Polo, as he’s affectionately known by fans and friends alike, has been in a coma since suffering a brain aneurysm in 2010.
On Tuesday, November 26, 2013 the “Bounce Beat King” passed on at the age of 42.
The Washington Post, which received its confirmation from the musician’s father yesterday morning, explains the birth of TCB’s Bounce Beat– a sub-genre of DC’s native musical style Go-Go.
The family is still arranging for a public funeral and will release more details via social media soon.
Leaders in DC music send their condolences for the innovator through social media.
R.I.P. Polo of TCB @BouncebeatKingz . He fought a long fight and his influence on go-go music will last forever.
