The MeccaFest Music & Arts Festival [PREVIEW]
Homecoming is the best part of Fall– next to fashion and football of course, but still pretty damn exciting. Here in DC, we can expect hundreds of celebrity appearances at our favorite nightlife venues, standing-room-only concerts and creative social events all thanks to the 12 universities in the area.
The MeccaFest Experience
On October 17th, The Culture Collective, LLC– comprised of a group of Howard University alumni, presents the first ever The MeccaFest Music & Arts Festival. From noon to 7 p.m., Gateway DC will transform it’s innovative and unique state-of-the-art open-air park into a venue featuring today’s brightest musical and creative talents.
Who’s Hitting the Stage?
Headlining acts include Future, Jeremih, Elle Varner, Rae Sremmurd, Teyana Taylor. Next-up local acts like Black Cobain, Future Band, Backyard Band, and David Corey from the second season of Fox’s The X-Factor.
Festival goers can expect fun social interactions like an arts & crafts marketplace, photobooth, food vendors, a beer pong tournament, giant Jenga, double shoot basketball, a moonbounce and a mechanical bull!
WPGC 95.5 has partnered on this event and on-air talent Sunni and the City will be hosting. DTLR, Fameus Hookah and Uber are also event partners and will offer special perks just for attendees.
How Can I Be Down?
Three tickets are available, general admission, Pavillion VIP and for those who want to be right in the heart of the action Pavillion VIP + Pit. Grab yours today while they last!
I’m looking forward to attending and experiencing what sounds like a truly one-of-a-kind musical experience for the DMV. Aside from the music, I’m most looking forward to conquering the bull after kickin’ butt in the pong tourney.
