Let’s just power puff this green– Mojo Jojo

One of my very first artist features, Rapper Chris Barz, has released the visuals to his latest single “Touch the Sky” from his forthcoming release Angels and Jets. The Janet Jackson “I Get So Lonely” sample mixed with a slow bounce Go-Go drum pattern obviously influenced by his DC roots makes this song fun to smoke to and even more fun to dance to.

Barz let me hear the track last year when I impatiently hassled him about what he’s been up to. It’s on my iPhone and is in regular rotation in my fits of shuffle fury. I let my most critical Hip-Hop Head friends listen and not one of them could find anything negative to say about this cat, and they only got to scratch the surface.

This guy is extremely humble considering how not only is he a charismatic rapper, he is also an accomplished music producer (Wale‘s “Don’t Hold Your Applause” for example,) and if that’s not impressive enough, he actually shot and directed this video!

Keep an eye out for him, and his new clothing line LivLuv Culture— he’s going places.
