Where has BobbyPen Been? August 9, 2010
After dinner, to walk off some of calories we had just taken in, my friend wanted to show me… a park. It was a comfortable evening, not humid, not too breezy, but just right for a day in a park. I figured we were just going to sit near the waterfalls and fountains and catch up on each other’s lives. I had no idea what I was in for.
The experience was amazing!
I was mainly impressed by how so many different types of people could be in one area, doing a million different things, peacefully. There was no drama, hostility, or stress. It’s like everyone there was without a care in the world, (at least for the few hours they spent at Malcolm X Park that Sunday.) I also enjoyed watching the people there dance to the rhythm of the drums. People were watching, but the dancers didn’t care. I don’t blame them. This might be my new hangout when I need to escape my struggles.
I hope you all enjoyed the recap of my day out, and that you find cool and interesting places that can be an escape when a vacation is not realistic. Where do you go to get away from everything? What do you do to unwind when you have down time? How often do you get “Me Time” during the week and fully take advantage of it? Talk to me, because I’d love your responses.
Until next time…
Peace, Love, Create.
