How To Use Pinterest To Drive Traffic To Your Blog

In just one week, my blog viewers increased by almost 4k. In this week I did only ONE thing differently. I used my Pinterest to drive traffic to my blog.

Pinterest is the only social media platform specifically made to channel viewers to a blog.

Here are 5 steps you can take to start driving traffic from Pinterest to your blog.

1) Sign Up For A ‘Pinterest For Business’ Account

A Pinterest for Business account allows you to view the number of impressions your Pins and overall profile. You’re also able to view the amount of traffic being driven to your website and compare content performances. This account basically gives you access to every one of the Pinterest-related analytics.

2) Create A Blog Board

Making a board on Pinterest that is specially for images related to your blog articles is an excellent idea. This allows pinners to follow your blog board and allows your followers to effortlessly locate your blog posts.

You can also create categories for each blog content type, such as Fashion, Beauty, Indie music, etc.

Furthermore, you are advised to make the title of your Pinterest blog board the same title as your blog.

3) Put The Name Of Your Blog On Every Pin

Placing your blog name in all of your pins helps pinners to know the origin of the pins and helps to build your brand awareness.

4) Use Attractive Images

As you may already know, Pinterest is all about IMAGES. Captivating photos will lure viewers into clicking the link that brings them to your blog article.

5) Call-To-Action In Pin Descriptions

The description of the photos you pin from your blog posts should be concise and related to the image. More importantly, include a statement that encourages the reader to click the URL to your full blog article. This provides a direct traffic channel from Pinterest to your blog.

According to Pinterest Business, it is important to start with the most important information in the pin description because the first 50-60 characters are most likely to show up in people’s feeds.
