DC Soul Singer Reesa Renee was celebrated as  Luv Mineral Cosmetics spokesmodel this Friday, July 12 at the Natural Beauty Tour Kickoff.

Luv Mineral Cosmetics’ Natural Beauty Tour educates women on natural cosmetics and beauty techniques. The debut event, hosted at the C. Alan Signature Salon in Northwest Washington, D.C., featured a performance by DMV’s Apollo Champion and 93.9 WKYS‘ Top 25 Artists in the DMV 2012 Reesa Renee, makeovers, natural beauty and natural hair tips.

Luv Mineral Cosmetics (Luv) is a new all-natural makeup brand for women of color and one of the first, safe and healhty direct sales cosmetics brands for women of color. Luv launched in March in Atlanta, Ga. and now DC after winning the prestigious Terry College of Business University of Georgia‘s Next Top Entrepreneur competition, providing owner Melodie Bundrage investment capital to launch the company nationwide.

Through partnerships with various salons and beauty professionals, Luv intends to empower women to make healthy beauty decisions. Reesa Renee was selected to represent Luv because of her natural beauty and commitment to health and empowerment.

Attendees enjoyed presentations on understanding the dangers of toxic cosmetic chemicals such as talc, petroleum, mineral oil and artificial fragrances.
