I went Instagram Live yesterday with emerging new talent, Journey Montana.

The 17-year-old is a rising R&B singer who grew up as a baby in the biz. She recalls spending time in studio sessions with her mother and hearing her father, who was a professional singer himself, belt out tunes around the house. After deciding that she wanted to pursue music professionally at the age of 13 she was challenged by her parents to establish a fan-based. She was able to do that by singing covers on YouTube and Instagram, where she now has over 300,000 followers.
