Nelly’s DC Promotional Stop for Seventh Album M.O. [VIDEO]
Last Monday Nelly released his seventh studio album, M.O. Before it’s release, he made his way to Washington, D.C. to promote and stopped by Studio 202’s The Raheem DeVaughn Show.
During the interview, Nelly credits his longevity in the industry to the unrestricted support of his loyal fans. He says he has the best fans every, because they allow him to explore his creative side and support his music whether he’s toping the charts with 2004’s Country crossover hit “Over and Over” featuring singer Tim McGraw or Hip-Hop anthems like 2005’s “Grillz.”
Nelly’s M.O. is always to go into the studio and create something new and fresh. He records records (cut down from 60 tracks to be exact for this album) with no expectations. “I’m going to keep it fresh. I’m going to do me and we’re going to make it happen,” Nelly says about working with producers like Pharrell Williams, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and DJ Frank E.
The St. Louis bred rapper named his album “M.O.” for three reasons: It’s the mailing abbreviation for his home state of Missouri, his family nicked named him “Moses” and now call him “Mo” for short and lastly, Nelly claims this album showcases his method of operation.
Nelly says, “It’s just like me being me, showing my method of operation and also leading at the same time.”
