Sheila Nychole x “Searchin'”
DC Urban Pop singer Sheila Nychole has been putting in the work to secure performances at various local venues over the last few years. Her hard work is paying off and she will be a contestant on BET’s long-running video countdown show 106 & Park TONIGHT on their Wildin’ Out Wednesdays segment featuring emerging performance artists across the nation.
Wild-Out Wedneday is a weekly segment where three artists or groups compete before a live studio audience. The competitions are divided each week by genre, so week-by-week artists/groups compete in separate R&B, hip hop, step and dance competitions. The audience at home chooses the weekly winners and the best of the best come back for the summer all-star series, so make sure you log on to BET’s website and vote for Sheila Nychole. Most artist can remember when they first started singing however, Sheila Nychole can’t remember a time she wasn’t. Classically trained, she began her pursuit with joinin the Washington Performing Arts Society. There she gained much experience singing and took advantage of acting as well.
Sheila Nychole’s soulful and explosive tone continues to prove that good things can come in small packages. She pulls strength from greats like Nancy Wilson and reminds of contemporaries like Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Lauryn Hill. Sheila has performed at several venues with in the MD, DC, and VA area, Busboys & Poets, Induji, Pashion Lounge, and The Velvet Lounge just to name a few. Sheila Nychole had the opportunity to sing for songwriter/ producer Bryan Michael Cox, who later stated” I’m sure that I will be seeing you again!”
