Big E tells TheBobbyPen.com : “I started rapping in 2003, but I have been recording since 2007. I’ve always had a love for music. From time to time I listen to a lot of different genres but I mainly focus on Hip Hop and R&B. There was a time I was selling drugs, robbing, stealing or whatever it took to make ends meet, but after being arrested so many times I just felt like it wasn’t a future in the street life. I chose music as my outlet. It’s something I was good at and I feel like I have a real chance at success.
I launched District Kingz Productions in 2009. After attempting to get on with other local artists, I decided I would take my career into my own hands. District Kingz is not only a way for me to get my music out, but it also provides opportunities for other local talented artists to live out there dreams; and if there’s a chance we can overcome poverty and provide for our families, then its worth the shot. Currently I have two other artists on my label and they have been featured on my South Side Story project. I think what will separate me from other local artists is my hard work, professionalism and consistency. My Product will always be top of the line and retail ready. As an Independent Artist I take pride in the work I do. I feel like my content, as well as my style and presentation, is a cut above the rest. I believe given the right situation, we can take The DMV to the next level.”
