In this week’s episode of “Iyanla: Fix My Life”, a woman named Jackie seeks Iyanla’s help to mend the relationship between herself and her family. Jackie gave birth to her daughter Nikki, at the age of 16. Since that life-changing event, Jackie explains how she instantly become the black sheep of the family. Dealing with the struggles of being a young mother, her mom raised Nikki, while Jackie rebelled and found her escape in a life of drugs, prostitution and violent behavior.

Jackie, a mother of four, elicits a strong reaction from Iyanla Vanzant when she confesses to turning tricks when she was pregnant with her second daughter.

Jackie also explains to Iyanla that during her absence, her sister Latonya raised Nikki. This lead Nikki and Latonya to form a close bond, causing Jackie to resent their relationship and constantly explode with anger, jealousy, and rage towards the family.

Iyanla fights to not only help Jackie face the choices she’s made, but to also reunite her with her sister Latonya, and hopefully bring the family back together.
