nbc_allegiance_thebobbypenNBC curated an informative and interactive pre-screening event for it’s newest espionage series Allegiance. DC’s tastemakers were invited to attend the private screening at none other than the International Spy Museum.

The Cocktail Reception

Hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and conversation set the tone for a night of engaging entertainment. The 2-hour reception was held on the museum’s lower level where guests were encouraged to network and get excited for the screening.

Attendees were then ushered upstairs to the venue’s auditorium, where the show’s pilot episode was projected onto a large screen for all to see. Lights dimmed. Action!

About Allegiance

Alex O’Connor, a young idealistic CIA analyst specializing in Russian affairs, learns a shocking secret and his close-knit, affluent family is about to be split apart when it’s revealed that his parents, Mark (Scott Cohen) and Katya (Hope Davis), are covert Russian spies deactivated decades ago. But today the Kremlin has re-enlisted them into service as they plan a terrorist operation inside the U.S. border that will bring America to its knees.

To enhance the experience, immediately following the series opener guests enjoyed a 30-minute panel discussion and Q&A with real-life intelligence analysts. Invited guests included Oleg Kalugin (former KGB clandestine operative), Peter Earnest (former CIA operative and museum director), and Mark Stout (former CIA intelligence analyst).

My Review

I truly enjoyed the pilot. I get bored easily, so comedy and action are my go-to genres. I was worried this show might bore me out of my seat, but instead it pulled me in. The sharp dialogue and unfolding family drama keeps the viewer engaged. I see great potential for this show. By the end of the pilot I was literally seated at the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. Can’t wait to see episode 2. I’m confident viewers will feel the same way after the premiere of Allegiance, which airs this Thursday night at 10 on NBC.

Will you tune in?
