Justine Skye talks Almost Losing “Collide,” BET College Tour & Green as Her Favorite Color
New York Singer Justine Skye sat down with HOT 97’s BlueMagic of ThatsEnuff.com on Tuesday (Oct. 14).
During the one-on-one she discusses how there was a battle for her to keep her first single “Collide” produced by West Coast’s DJ Mustard and features LA rapper Tyga. “People were trying to take it away from me.” she said.
Justine also said she’s already recorded a lot of tracks for her debut album despite still not having an official release date. She’s working with Polo da Don, Sterotypes, Rock City, “Tuesday” rapper I LOVE MAKONNEN, and has a Future feature. She predicts that that song will be her next single, but we’ll have to wait and see.
The 18-year-old starlet is fresh off the BET College Tour with Grammy-nominated Luke James and DC’s own Tiara Thomas. The tour visited many HBCU’s throughout the country, and Justine said The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) was her favorite stop, even though ATL rapper Young Joc came out on stage with her during her performance at Clark Atlanta University.
Justine also shared that green is actually her favorite color and purple became this unicorn’s signature because her mother wouldn’t let her dye her hair green. It seems like she has quite the mother-daughter relationship as she confessed that her mom actually responds to her negative comments on social media for her.
The big takeaway? Justine Skye wants all of her loyal fans to learn something from her; to learn period. While she hasn’t gone to college in order to pursue her entertainment career, looking to forge a path into acting and modeling too, she still finds a lesson in life every day. She wants her followers to place value on self-education.
