Because of the constant change and frequent moving around as a foster child, he was determined to break the stigma and stereotypes of foster children and decided to take action in order to reach his goals and following his dreams as a prestigious actor and motivational speaker.

For nearly 8 years, Monti Washington has had the pleasure of starring in independent films, as well as being featured in numerous commercials, and being awarded the opportunity to speak at more than 130 venues (including colleges and conferences) across the nation.

Monti Washington has appeared on a number of television stations including CBS and Spike TV. He currently stars in a recurring role as Terrence in BET’s newest drama series titled Games People Play and Tyler Perry’s newest sitcom “Bruh” streaming on BET+.

In this candid interview with Bobby Pen, Washington opens up about the unique opportunities the pandemic has created for artists. He believes this time spent staying to ourselves should be used honing in our crafts. As Washington opened up about his own physical and sexual traumas and how he’s healed through them, he also offers words of encouragement for others on how how to protect your mental state under stress.

Washington is a well-rounded artist who hopes to land even more roles in the near future. But instead of waiting for someone else to cast him, he’s begun writing his own screenplays. Will we seen them on the screen soon? He sure hopes so!
