Meet Eprell from Miami, FL who is a Singer, songwriter and visionary
About Your Hustle, Eprell
Project Name
Sincerity EP
How did you get started, and how did you get to where you are today, Eprell?
Music has always been a big part of my life. My family listen to music on both sides. My mom and dad’s side of the family had a couple of cousins that sing and I knew that it would only trickle down to me one day.
I was in my grandfather’s house and my auntie was playing music which she always did especially on the weekend and all I kept hearing was these powerful lyrics coming from the speaker and I wanted to know so bad who it was. I just love the feeling that it was giving me at such a young age and I ended up looking down in a bin and picked up a CD and looked at it and it said Mary J Blige “My Life.” my life changed literally after that it made me truly want to go on learn the album the lyrics and sing every single word.
Music kept me from a lot of things is saved me and that’s why I love music so much it’s more than just singing it’s more than the passion, It’s My Life. and I looked up to so many of the greats after that such as Aaliyah Brandy Monica Anita Baker Sade TLC Joe and I wanted to learn their voices I wanted to learn the lyrics I wanted to learn their style how they moved it videos that’s what kept me wanting to improve with my vocals so I would do anything that has to do with music going the chorus class begging my parents to buy me cassette tapes the record my voice on it on this huge karaoke machine I would seen any time of the day that’s all I thought about 24/7 was just being a singer and then by 12 years old I was like okay this is what I’m going to do as my career I wanted to inspire the world at such a young age just off of the things that I’ve been through at a at a young age I wanted to really show the world what I had to offer and that was my story which Separates Me from any other artists out here because my story is not theirs and their story is not mine so I always realize that I was going to be different I was going to coming to the music business different I didn’t want to do what everybody else did even though I looked up just so many amazing artists I still wanted to have my own identity , being from Miami coming up and trying to make it is not easy because so many people look at my city as we’re not talented down here there is not too many opportunities down here we have to really fight to get attention on our names and then I begin to do little local talent shows at school doing anything to use my boys then I started writing I even started reaching out to labels when you can actually call Atlantic Records Def Jam record because I thought it was so easy to get a record deal but unfortunately that wasn’t the case LOL but here I am still striving still going for it and I know one day God will bless me with the opportunity to inspire the world I never care for fame all I want to do is just Inspire the world and get the word of knowledge on how to succeed cuz if I can do it I know they can do it.
Challenges and Obstacles
Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of your struggles along the way, Eprell?
The road was never smooth for me nothing ever changes easy for me by the way even besides music in my life. I had to work for everything and I’m okay with that because I appreciate everything that they was handed to me and it will last longer because when you get things handed to you it won’t last because it came so easily so I knew that anything worth having will be hard to come by but I was willing to put in the work I was willing to listen and learn and be stood in the music I did so much research on music and that’s how I love artists that are not just main screen for artists that didn’t have that much success or underrated artists because I love the underdog I love the artist that people don’t feel like they had enough success because their music is just as good as someone on a major label that had tons of success and the road from me was really just trying to accept the fact that I’m not another brandy or Monica with Keyshia Cole and even though I love those women music I wanted to show people that I can be different my voice is different you can’t compare my voice to any other artist because my voice is different I would never be those amazing women and my voice will never be how their voice is so I already know that it will definitely be hard to really Zone in on my voice molded around what I knew my voice could be in the beginning I couldn’t take vocal training because my mother couldn’t afford it so I had to train myself how to sing I would sit in the closet and just seem to myself all day just so I can see if I heard anything and then here I am now and I feel like my boys is 10 times better than what it was when I was a teenager or just 12 years old so it was definitely a struggle for me and still is our struggle is not easy I think being in the music industry is one of the hardest Industries to get into and remain in
