“The Let Out Showcase” Let New York City Select Who’s Got Next in Hip-Hop [RECAP]
Abba Brand Development and Rich Heart Records presented the first-ever “The Let Out Showcase” last Wednesday (Nov. 6) at historic Hip-Hop venue SOB’s in New York City.
Several performers hit the stage to compete for the chance to catch the attention of record executives from 300 Entertainment, Cinematic Music Group, Asylum Records, Empire Records, Def Jam, Sony Music Group, and Socialite Influencer Mr. Commodore. The evening’s soundtrack was provided by DJ Nyal Symone from Power 105.1 FM and hosted by Sha Boogie from Hot97 Who’s Next.
Hopefuls were judged by an established panel of A&R pros including Success (Atlantic Records VP of A&R), Polo (RocNation Director of A&R), and Rap (Republic Records Director of A&R)
17-year-old rapper Young Devyn, whom I caught up with at Essence Festival earlier this year, came in first place, singer B Morgan in second, and musician Juss B came in third.
The night’s winners enjoyed a one-on-one meeting with label A&R, billboard placement in the heart of Times Square, Public Relations consulting with Abba Brand Development and the opportunity to open for The Let Out Concert.
Guests also enjoyed a surprise performance from special guest comedian and emcee Fatboy SSE, best known for his hilarious skits on Instagram.
