How have you been coping during Coronavirus Quarantine? Most of us are looking super raggedy right now missing trips to the hair salon or barbershop so I’m here today to show you how I achieved the best Flexi rod curls of my 12-year natural hair journey.

How I Achieved These Curls

Step 1 • Cleanse

I used Blueberry Bliss Reparative Hair Wash to cleanse my hair. The rich and creamy sulfate-free cleanser worked to soften my hair, which had dried out from being in a protective style. After one wash my hair felt hydrated, which promotes a healthy scalp and hair growth. The hair wash is made from organic Blueberry Extract, Aloe Leaf Juice, and Chamomile Extract clinically proven to REPAIR, PROTECT, RESTORE, and GROW your curls.

Step 2 • Deep Condition

Next, I used Blueberry Bliss Reparative Hair Mask for a deep penetrating, intensive, reparative treatment. My aim is to prevent breakage, repair damage, and enhance growth so I let it sit on my hair for about 45 minutes uncovered. By the time I was ready to rinse, I noticed my natural curl pattern shining through after a little heat styling. I was so happy to see that!

Step 3 • Lock In Moisture

Then, I treated my hair with the Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner in order to repair, restore, and condition my hair. I simply smoothed it through my wet hair and noticed instantly how soft my hair felt. This leave-in is formulated with certified organic blueberry extract, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and mango butter. This reparative conditioner is used to repair damaged hair, encourage hair growth, and prevent breakage.

Step 4 • Prep with Styler Style

I wasn’t sure if I needed both, but I used the Blueberry Bliss Twist-N-Shout Cream next to seal in all the moisture from the previous steps and prep my hair for the final step. The Twist-N-Shout Cream adds the sheen, moisture, and definition to help your hair form the beautiful ringlets– just without a hold.

Step 5 • Set Hair on 9/16″ Flexi rods

Finally, to get medium hold for bouncy and non-flakey curls setting Flexi rods I used the B Enviable Creamy Curl Gel. My hair was not soaking wet at this step. It was more “damp,” and I believe that was also a key factor in achieving these beautiful results.

You guys! I have yet to come across a CURLS product that doesn’t smell amazing, but the Marshmallow root extract in B Enviable is a true game-changer. Not to mention, I almost ALWAYS end up with flakey, white residue when I layer a cream styler and a gel. That’s also typically accompanied by a crunchy and stiff style that looks great in pics, but it’s a disaster in real life. That is NOT my story with this B Enviable Gel, ladies! I was blown away by the soft, fluffy, and defined curls I ended up with.

Conclusion

I’m still having a hard time believing that my natural 4C texture can achieve a beautiful head of smooth, springy, and sexy curls like this straight from the shower!

On Instagram one of my followers asked me if I blow-dried my hair first– a trend that I’ve seen on YouTube, but no I didn’t. It wasn’t necessary, girl! In fact, because it was such an easy style, I could see this becoming my go-to quarantine look.
